The Mooneyes Yokohama Hot Rod and Custom Show is known for curating a world-class collection of awesome motorcycles and hot rods that you can’t see anywhere else. This 25th year was no different. Invited American builders consider it a great honor to display their craftsmanship in the same hall as many of the uber-talented local guys.
Japan is a wacky place. For all it’s discipline and structure, or maybe because of it, when the people cut loose, be it partying or building a bike–they really go for it. The motorcycles at Mooneyes always run the gamut from wild, outside the box interpretations of what a chopper should be to beautifully un-restored relics with pre-war patina. Whatever style a Japanese builder might choose to tackle, you can be assured he’s going to go all-out. We’ve posted way more pics than usual in this blog, since these are not machines we get to see every other weekend at local bike nights, and there’s a ton of details to be inspired by.
Thank you to Shige and Steve for being such gracious hosts, we’re already looking forward to next year!
