FRIDAY, MAY 3

6:00 a.m. Breakfast at Mo's Egg House 27405 Jefferson Ave. • Temecula, CA Nothing official—doors open at six, and Mo's fills up fast 7:00 a.m. Kickstands up at Mo's Egg House We lead an informal group ride from Mo's every year. You can get breakfast there or just show up ready to roll before 7:00am. We don't have road captains and all that, so make sure to have the route on you so you know where to go when you get separated. (Consider printing the map posted below.) We leave on time, every time, so don't show up with an empty tank—gas up BEFORE breakfast. We will stop once for gas in Santa Ysabel and again at the Yuha Cutoff where S2 hits the 98. We will to top off again in Calexico and then kill some time and let riders catch up here. We usually cross the border a little after noon when it's nice and hot. The border entrance has been changed a little since 2017, so expect to get a little lost in town. Just keep heading south and you'll hit Mex 5 at some point. We'll stop for gas about 20 miles south of the border and then there won't be gas for about another 100 miles. 3:00 p.m. Tacos and beers at Ruben's Camp When you roll into Ruben's Campo there will be free tacos and beer while they last. If you don't have reservations somewhere, you can camp on the beach for free or grab a palapa at Ruben's (most will be full by midday on Friday, so be early and prepare to share). Ruben's will be serving drinks all evening or you can roll to town and party all ya want.

EL DIABLO RUN BIKE SHOW For the first time in its history, we're hosting the EDR Bike Show on San Felipe's downtown beachfront road—the Malecon—for Diablo Runners and San Felipe locals to enjoy. Our buds at Choppers Magazine are going to pitch in $500 and so are we, so the rider with the Best Chopper is gonna go away with grand in their pocket. More than enough to pay for the whole weekend. Bike Show hours are 3:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m., with winners selected and prizes presented immediately following. Classes for the Bike Show are as follows: • Best Chopper • Best Modern • Best Sportster • Best Metric • La Cucaracha (biggest roach on the ride) • Hard Ass Award (longest trip, least roadworthy machine, etc.) RULES & REGS 1) Entry is free. If you have questions, please see Bike Show Master of Ceremonies Mike "Otto" Deutsch at the Bike Show and EDR souvenir tent in front of the SAN FELIPE sign on the boardwalk 2) Your bike has to have been ridden to the event. No trailer queens. 3) Your motorcycle must be parked in the designated show bike area on the Malecon between 3:00 p.m. and 5:00 p.m. Sunday to qualify for judging and prizes 4) While you're parked on the Malecon, please do some shopping and enjoy some cocktails at the stores and restaurants—that's we moved it to town 5) If you see a sticker on your headlight at 4:55 p.m., it means you're a winner. Stick around till 5:00 p.m. to claim your prize 6) Otto and McGoo will announce winners starting 5:00 p.m. Bike Show participants must be present to claim prizes

The Basics

WHAT IT'S ALL ABOUT Here's the deal. The EDR is a unique event in that it's designed for people who ride older, home-built, custom motorcycles. Sure, you can ride a stocker or modern machine, but it probably won't be as fun. No one on the El Diablo Run is going to give you shit for what you ride as long as you have a good attitude. If you show up with an extra car battery to power your bike's stereo, neon lights, and think you are a tough guy because you bought a motorcycle... well, we can't guarantee your safety. Seriously, there are a bunch of events for you and this ain't one of 'em. This run is a challenge for man and machine no matter how you slice it. The miles don't sound that far sitting on your computer. Mexico miles are a little different, so be prepared. If you haven't ridden on an EDR in the past, please thouroughly read all the information on this site and subscribe to the blog or follow Biltwell on Instagram or Facebook, as important details will be published throughout the months leading up to the event. You will be expected to pull your own weight and be self-sufficient. In the words of our friend Walt, "Douchebaggery will not be tolerated." CAMPING & LODGING You can stay anywhere you want in San Felipe but this is where the action is going to be: Ruben's Camp No Reservations Required. Get in where you fit in. All 30 palapas will be available on a first come, first serve basis and are free to riders. These palapas WILL fill up quickly on Friday. You can gang up in one of these rustic tree forts, or pitch your tent on the beach (free!). You don't need any reservations or anything here, and it's all been paid for in advance by Biltwell and our generous sponsors. The outdoor bar area and taco stand will be at the massive palapa at Ruben's. Please no fireworks inside the camp. Be advised, there will be adult activities going on, so don't bring kids or hand-wringers. As an alternative, our trusted friend JC can help with a palapa or hotel room if you don't want to camp on the beach or take your chances on the first come, first serve palapas at Ruben's.
